After the last two days of UNC basketball, I think it’s about time everybody exhales(after inhaling, of course), and enjoys life for a little bit. & where else better to do that then in the heart of Tar Heel country, itself. Chapel Hill is the move tonight if you are looking for a good hip hop event. Some of the state’s finest emcees will be in the building to put on a show that will leave you gasping for air. King Mez, fresh off of his first MTV appearance and the release of The King’s Khrysis, will be holding it down. 9th Wonder, and Kooley High prized pupil, Rapsody will be doing her usual murderous microphone routine, Lazurus, Poe Mack, IllPo, and others will also be out repping for NC. Lastly, I will be there doing my usual 2 step on stage. So if you want to get out and celebrate tonight, do it in a smart manner….WITH US! Come tru. Jack Sprat. Show starts at 10p…

King Mez – Nightmares (prod. by Khrysis) – Video
Super shoutouts to King Mez for his new video, Nightmares. This joint is from his upcoming project, The King’s Khrysis, which is being produced by famed NC producer, Khrysis. They are releasing this EP this Sunday, which coincides with Mez’s appearance on MTV’s Sucka Free Sunday. You can also catch Mez in Chapel Hill’s stop of Poe Mack’s ShoeString Budget Tour(Sat. March 12). I will also be performing at the event, with a rack of dope NC artists. It’s shaping up to be a monster year for NC’s prodigy, so keep your eyes and ears open for King Mez…

This song marks the beginning of King Mez’s new project, of which the name is to be released at a later date. The project is to be sponsored by Stussy, Dj Booth, Herfection, Fisdj.foto, Eleven Heavens, and Workshop. This work of art is Mez’s way of reintroducing himself to the hip hop scene after a slight hiatus. After Getting approval from Apple Juice Kid and Ski Beatz “Champions” is ready for the public ear. The project that this song spearhead’s will be released February the 27th, the same day as King Mez’s first cable television Appearance, His MTV2 Sucker Freestyle.

K.O. Kid, King Mez & more at the Cats Cradle this Saturday
Apparently Chapel Hill is the spot to be at on Saturday night. The Cats Cradle is doing a good thing by giving a few of the top local acts the time to shine as headliners at their own show. I was put on to K.O Kid cuz he has ties to the Greenville scene, and I have done a few flyers for shows he has done. King Mez is a beast, that is certified. I recently found a live recording of an event I did with Blount Harvey, and we invited Mez onstage for a freestyle session. Looking back now, Mez must’ve been 15 or 16 years old at that show, and he killed it! Apple Juice Kid is a legend in NC Hip Hop. If you are unfamiliar with his movement, it’s time to change that. I had the honor of doing an event with FreeBass 808 in Wilmington a few years back. They are crazy live.
So I guess every Hip Hop head from the 919 will be in Chapel Hill on Saturday. See yall there…
