Review & Video from the Move Mountains Release Party

Shout to Poe Mack for the release of his new KevinNottingham.com sponsored project, Move Mountains. Like many of y’all know, we celebrated the release with a show in Raleigh a few weeks ago. From that show came a dope review and video of my performance, shot by Kris of Oktobervision(www.youtube.com/oktobervision). Here are some of the kind words written about my performance from HypeNC.com & Ty Bru:

Third on the all-star lineup was well respected NC veteran and crowd pleaser, Big Hop, who is the true definition of an M.C. any way you look at it; a microphone controller, master of ceremonies, a mover of crowds, music commentator…he is all of that.

Hop’s set highlighted a few tracks from his“Everything Is Impossible” project, which is a collaborative effort with the hard-hitting Serbian producer, X3M.

On the track “I Don’t Make Sense,” Hop forfeited a performance verse to bring up another well respected and multi-talented emcee/musician Ignite Mindz in order to hit the audience with another completely original NC hip-hop flavor, which was an added bonus to an already stellar night.

Hop also dropped his crowd-catching favorite “I Love The 80’s” single, in which the entire track was purposely laced with countless references to sitcoms from that time period.

Prior to the start of the song, Hop invited the crowd to count the number of these references. If they got the answer correct, he would buy five drinks for them. No one could keep up. Perfect concept, perfect execution and above all, perfect bait for the next Big Hop performance.

Peace to Ty for writing such a kind words, as well as joining me on stage for a quick collaboration of the minds. If you want to read the rest of the interview, check it out at http://hypenc.com/2010/2011/01/25/move-mountains-release-party/.
