ReeseBeatz – In Da Street Beatz Vol.1 (Free Instrumentals)

Super shoutout to J Reese on the release of his new instrumental project, In Da Streetz Vol. 1. In case you have smoked too many blunts, J Reese brought us one of this site’s first posts, when Herb Skee & I filmed him verbally unleashing on fellow producers at a showcase in November. Even though it was all in good fun, the video was classic and caused a bit of drama around the NC Hip Hop scene.

Now, Reese is back with this new collection of instrumentals for your listening pleasure. So make sure you check them out, give them a whole bunch of listens, download the ones you like, and record some new jams. Hopefully, Reese will fux with them, and not wyle out on you for doing so. Hahahaha. Get In Da Streetz Vol. 1 here for FREE…

Battle for Beats 2K11 This Sunday! (Wilmington, NC)

It’s finally here & I know some of y’all have been patiently counting down the days. Battle For Beats 2K11 is finally upon us and the Port City will never be the same. Make sure you head down to the 910 to be apart of history, as up to 16 of NC’s best producer’s battle it out for a set of Beats by Dre headphones.

A couple months back, Reese Beats made a huge spectacle at a Producer’s Showcase I was hosting. hat was the prelude to what might be one of NC’s most epic Beat Battles. Check out the video below of Reese & WonderBoy exchanging barbs through viral video:

All craziness aside, make sure you hit up the event that everyone in NC is talking about. An event so big, that it required 2 flyers from yours truly. Haha…

MindsOne – “Break” (Prod. by Kev Brown)

Shoutout to my Port City brethren, MindsOne, for the release of their second joint off of their album, Self Reliance. As expected, this joint is a banger. Here is the info:
MindsOne has released their follow up single from the critically acclaimed album “Self Reliance” on Soulspazm Records.  ‘Break’, produced by Low Budget’s own Kev Brown, serves as an ode to rhythm.  While MindsOne crew Emcees Tronic and KON Sci detail crowd motivation and movement, DJ Noumenon sets up a platform for the technical DJ work which is strategically placed throughout the course of the song.  Fellow scratch masters Rob Swift (the X-Ecutioners), DJ Excess (Ned Hoddings), J Smoke and DJ Spictakular (the Allies) display an array of precise cutlery which justify their places as highly respected DJs in the international scratch community.
The single can be downloaded for FREE here

Reese Beats Calls Out WonderBoy

In what started out as a pretty uneventful night in the Port City, all of a sudden Reese erupted in a burst of alcoholic fury on the other producers involved in the event. Although I don’t believe he was absolutely serious, you can’t help but wonder, “what the hell is going thru your mind?!” Hahahaha. This sh*t was straight out of the WWE. If anything, I hope it leads to a monumental (violence free) beat battle in Wilmington in January…
